When I got back to the car a friend messaged me that a typhoon is approaching Okinawa this week and it made it have a hope again as this spring and beginning of summer as been a real wave draught. Let’s hope this turns into something good and produces some fun waves to surf.
Jun put together a few clips of me surfing out front in Okinawa. Here and there Jun breaks out the camera and shoots every surfer out there on the seawall and he had a few clips of me he was stashing and surprised me with this edit. I appreciate it very much. You can check out all of his videos on his Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/SURF2011OKINAWA
If you lurk on Magic Seaweed’s predictions for the week and see 6+feet/1.5 – 2.0+meter wave size with Northern directions you are going to find all of my favorite spots to surf on the West Side of Okinawa light up. I took some video at couple spots and I hope you like it! – Dave
The waves in Okinawa often suck and although all the pretty tourist flyers for Okinawa are beautiful sunny days it often rains. When this happens I don’t worry, we headed to the skatepark under the bridge in Haebaru. Do you want directions to that skatepark: Click Here
Rob is a big guy but don’t under estimate his skill level. This trick was my idea to start trying and right away Rob took over and 5 min. later he pulled this stylish ‘ baby blunt slide ‘ to fakie the Ginowan Skate Park.
